OLC Wins inclusion in BECTA Software Licensing Agreement

OLC, as the academic division of SBL (Software Box Limited), has won inclusion  on their Framework Agreement as “Becta-authorised supplier of operating systems software and office productivity software to schools.”

Following extensive testing and auditing carried out by BECTA  OLC are now able to supply discounted software under the terms of this framework agreement to all grant maintained schools in England, Scotland Northern Ireland and Wales. 

This is great news as it ensures that, not only are eligible establishments ensured of quality of service and support, but also that most office productivity software will become more affordable for schools.

Background

The aim of the new agreement is to provide schools with a clear understanding of the best possible price available in the marketplace when they have chosen to purchase any of the products under the scope of the framework agreement.

Schools will be able to purchase at the framework prices, or use them to negotiate added value packages. Local Education Authorities (LEAs) or other appropriate consortia will also be able to purchase under the new agreement and for larger scale purchases run mini competitions to seek improved pricing or benefits.
